Ubuntu 26.04 LTS "Resolute Raccoon" comes with 5 years of standard support through 2031, with Ubuntu Pro extending coverage to 10 years through 2036. It ships with an updated Linux kernel, improved performance on modern hardware, and enhanced system security defaults — making it a solid foundation for production hosting environments.
We ran a complete fresh installation of Panelica on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and confirmed that all systems operate correctly. Every component passed validation:
- Isolation system — Cgroups v2 + Linux namespaces confirmed working
- Web servers — Nginx + Apache stack fully operational
- PHP 8.1 through 8.4 — All versions load and serve correctly
- Databases — PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis start and accept connections
- Mail stack — Postfix, Dovecot, and Roundcube verified operational
- Security layers — ModSecurity WAF, Fail2ban, and firewall rules apply without issues
- Backup system — Scheduled and on-demand backups complete successfully
- SSL/TLS — Let's Encrypt auto-issue and renewal confirmed working
All 20 managed services started cleanly. The 5-layer user isolation system — cgroups, namespaces, SSH chroot jails, PHP-FPM pools, and Unix permissions — is fully stable on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.
New installations are straightforward. Just run the standard installer on a fresh Ubuntu 26.04 LTS server:
